Why are we not using a Joomla site for this group??

Just wandering? It just seems appropiate.

Welcome to the Joomla! Austin User's Group

Joomla! Austin was created to leverage the knowledge and expertise of the many Joomla! users, designers and developers in Central Texas. Our knowledge can assist Joomla! users at every skill level, to leverage a Content Management System to make sophisticated yet easily maintainable web-sites on Joomla! the most popular Open Source (free GPL) CMS on the market.

The Joomla! Austin user's group was formed for beginner to advanced level users who want to host Joomla! events, contribute to the project in various ways and have fun.

Past meetings have featured keynote speakers such as Joomlatools' own Johan Janssens. Johan is a lead developer of Joomla! and the principal architect of the new Joomla! Framework. Meetings have included topics that help users get productive with Joomla! 1.5, develop killer Joomla! 1.5 extensions using the new Joomla! framework, design Joomla! 1.5 templates using the new override system, and migrate current Joomla! 1.0 sites to 1.5.

If you are involved with Joomla!, the most exciting CMS available, then you need to join the Joomla! Austin user's group to learn, share and have fun with other Joomla! users. Whether you are an experienced developer or someone wanting to set up your first website. We're here to learn together and share.
